Onsite Shredding Dates Announced
Clean Out That Desk Drawer of Unwanted Personal Documents
We’re committed to helping you fight identity theft. The Federal Trade Commission estimates that up to 9 million Americans are victims of identity theft each year. Identity theft can cost you time and money, as well as destroy your good credit and ruin your good name. One of the most common ways this occurs is identity thieves going through your trash and looking for personal information that may be usable in order to masquerade as you. Among the items they are looking for are: credit card offers, receipts, check stubs, old bills, medical forms, insurance forms, bank statements, or personal files. To help address this ongoing concern, First National Bank of McHenry is sponsoring a FREE one-day shred event at each of our locations. Shredding will occur on site, so you will be able to witness your documents being destroyed. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed. There is a three box maximum per person in order to ensure everyone will have a chance to dispose of documents. Shredded paper will be recycled into new products.

Important Changes to FDIC Deposit Insurance Coverage
On October 3, 2008 FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2009. First National Bank of McHenry is also a participant in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Between October 14, 2008 and December 31, 2014, all depositors' funds held in a non-interest bearing transaction account* are insured in full by the FDIC. This FDIC insurance is in addition to any other FDIC deposit insurance available to our depositors. *Non-interest bearing transaction accounts exclude all interest bearing checking, money market deposit, and savings accounts.
